At Grey Highlands Eye Care our optometrists provides comprehensive eye examinations for children, adults and seniors. During a comprehensive eye exam our optometrists will not only determine the need for glasses and/or contact lenses but also assess how your eyes work as a team as well as evaluate the health of your eyes for ocular eye diseases and conditions as well as look for any ocular indications of systemic health problems.
The Canadian Association of Optometrists recommends that children have their first eye exam at the age of 6 months.
Early eye exams are important because so much of learning is visual, children need basic visual skills including: near vision, distance vision, ability to focus, using the eyes together as a team, peripheral awareness and motor/vision coordination.
